Subject: Reason for possible re-ballot in EMIX Thursday, July 7 meeting
The TC Administrator publication process took a very long time for
WS-Calendar, delayed until after the EMIX approval. The EMIX schemas, to be useful, had to either contain a set of instructions on how to validate them, or a copy of the WS-Calendar schemas (the path taken), or wait around until WS-Calendar was published. The WS-Calendar CSD04/PR03 publication took 31 days, and was published on June 28. Emix was approved for PR03 on June 23. The TC Administrator wants another TC ballot to approve the schemas with the WS-Calendar files taken out, and then to re-approve the CSD and the Public review. They will then put the version without the WS-Calendar schemas into the publication and public review process that's already well along. So I've asked Toby to prepare the schemas without the workaround for the publication process delays and a new package.
