Subject: [OASIS Issue Tracker] Commented: (EMIX-477) wd35 spec and schema:emix.xsd -- GML schema 'not found'

EMIX wd35 lines 46-48 make normative reference to the GML simple profiles spec:

"GML L van den Brink, C Portele, P. Vretanos Geography Markup Language (GML) simple features profile, OpenGIS® Implementation Standard, GML 3.2 Profile, Version 2.0, October 2010, http://schemas.opengis.net/gml/3.2.1/gml.xsd";

This GML spec has been revised to fix the conflict described in this issue and EMIX schema should be updated accordingly. The EMIX schema wd35 was written according to the GML spec revision 10-100r2. The updated GML spec revision, 10-100r3, "Geography Markup Language (GML) simple features profile (with technical note)", was released May 11, 2011, and can be found at http://www.opengeospatial.org/standards/gml.

On page 8, Section 7.4, Identifying the Compliance Level, the 10-100r3 revision states:

++++++++

"The following schema fragment shows how this annotation shall be declared in an
application schema:
1 <xsd:annotation>
2 <xsd:appinfo source="http://schemas.opengis.net/gmlsfProfile/2.0/gmlsfLevels.xsd";>
3 <gmlsf:ComplianceLevel>0|1|2</gmlsf:ComplianceLevel>
4 </xsd:appinfo>
5 </xsd:annotation>
In line 2, the appinfo element is used to contain the compliance level declaration for the
application schema. The source attribute shall point to the gmlsfLevels.xsd schema,
where the ComplianceLevel element is declared."

++++++++

The previous (10-100r2) spec (same section same page as above) stated:

++++++++

"1 <xsd:annotation>
2 <xsd:appinfo source="http://schemas.opengis.net/gml/3.2.1/profiles/gmlsfProfile/2.0/gmlsfLevels.xsd";>
3 <gmlsf:ComplianceLevel>0|1|2</gmlsf:ComplianceLevel>
4 <gmlsf:GMLProfileSchema>http://schemas.opengis.net/gml/3.2.1/profiles/gmlsfProfile/2.0/gmlsf[2].xsd</gmlsf:GMLProfileSchema>
5 </xsd:appinfo>
6 </xsd:annotation>"

++++++++

Note that line 4, the GMLProfileSchema delcaration (with invalid URL), has been deleted from the spec.
Also, the URL to the appinfo source has been changed to a valid URL: http://schemas.opengis.net/gmlsfProfile/2.0/gmlsfLevels.xsd

EMIX should maintain compliance with the latest GML specification so should update the above declaration as required per the GML normative expectations for use of Profiles.

Subject: RE: [GML-3.3.swg] Fw: gmlsf:ComplianceLevel - Question from OASISSmartGRID standards group
Date: Fri, 15 Jul 2011 09:44:53 +0200
From: Linda van den Brink <l.vandenbrink@geonovum.nl>
To: Carl Reed <creed@opengeospatial.org>, gml-3.3.swg <gml-3.3.swg@lists.opengeospatial.org>
CC: <ahendry@pacbell.net>

The URIs to the gmlsfLevels.xsd and gmlsf.xsd were corrected in the latest version of the GML simple features profile (10-100r3). They are at http://schemas.opengis.net/gmlsfProfile/2.0/.

Hope this helps,

Linda
