Subject: [OASIS Issue Tracker] Commented: (EMIX-494) PAP03 Req #7: needsvalidation; market terminology

    [ http://tools.oasis-open.org/issues/browse/EMIX-494?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=26911#action_26911 ]

Edward Cazalet commented on EMIX-494:
--------------------------------------

The requirement as stated is focused on understanding of supply and demand and not on market terminology in use today. On this this basis alone I recommend that this issue be closed.

EMIX actually supports much of the market terminology in use today. Because many different terms may be used in various markets that may be regulated or completive, retail or wholesale, forward or real time, physical or financial, and bilateral, exchange or centralized dispatch, EMIX has defined terms that can be related to similar terms in all markets.

For example a tender in EMIX may be a bid or offer in other markets, an order in some, or a computed tariff price in another.
An EMIX product may have different names in various markets but the elements of an EMIX product clearly define the information and enable translation of price information to price terms in virtually any market.

An EMIX Interface is uses terms for location from many domains including the CIM and is extensible.
EMIX intervals are highly flexible and can be mapped to intervals in virtually any domain.
