Subject: [OASIS Issue Tracker] Commented: (EMIX-482) Product description
[ http://tools.oasis-open.org/issues/browse/EMIX-482?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=27008#action_27008 ] Joshua Phillips commented on EMIX-482: -------------------------------------- An interoperability standard for price and product must have a clearly understood concept of product. Increased understanding is possible with an information model in UML that details the attributes of a product and its relationships with other key entities (time, location, market etc). Please see the CIM as a key source of the product concept in wholesale markets. The IRC and CIM classify products independent of the other key entities mentioned above. Thus to only be able to describe a product by utilizing time, location, and market is in conflict with the IRC Model. It is not apparent how a product could be defined in EMIX without including a time and location. CIM identifies a market product as: A product traded by an RTO (e.g., energy, 10 minute spinning reserve). Ancillary service product examples include: Regulation Up Regulation Dn Spinning Reserve Non-Spinning Reserve Operating Reserve The offers are for the resource. If qualified, the resource may offer multiple products and bid curves in the offer. Energy and A/S are cooptimized so that the least cost combination of energy and A/S is awarded to each resource. Interoperability is not supported if the concepts are open to interpretation or synonymous. The elements cannot be assembled successfully if their definition is not clear. > Product description > ------------------- > > Key: EMIX-482 > URL: http://tools.oasis-open.org/issues/browse/EMIX-482 > Project: OASIS Energy Market Information Exchange (eMIX) TC > Issue Type: Improvement > Environment: IRC > Reporter: Toby Considine > Assignee: William Cox > > Where is product descritpion in this model? -- This message is automatically generated by JIRA. - If you think it was sent incorrectly contact one of the administrators: http://tools.oasis-open.org/issues/secure/Administrators.jspa - For more information on JIRA, see: http://www.atlassian.com/software/jira
