Subject: [OASIS Issue Tracker] Commented: (EMIX-486) TeMix addresses thisuse case

    [ http://tools.oasis-open.org/issues/browse/EMIX-486?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=27037#action_27037 ]

Edward Cazalet commented on EMIX-486:
--------------------------------------

Josh, you have stated that "it would be agreeable for the TC to incorporate such a subset of EMIX that utilized the Wholesale terms, products, and elements, or remove such preference given to other groups."

I strongly support your suggestion and I simply point out that we, with the support of the IRC have worked hard to address many IRC market price and product communications such as multi-part resource offers, ramp rates, ISO charges, congestion charges, etc. Yes, it is true that the use of the term option for Ancillary Services is not helpful to the IRC, but product names can be communicated and the IRC requirements do not propose a detail expression of IRC ancillary service products other than the name and other standard elements such as price, location, and intervals.

I don't see that a preference has been granted to TeMIX. TeMIX is quite simple and the TeMIX profile has been in evidence through all of the public reviews of EMIX with virtually no negative comments and considerable informal support. Moreover, by defining the TeMIX profile we make clear that TeMIX specific assumptions do not apply to other potential profiles unless explicitly included in that profile.

Should TeMIX thus be delayed while an IRC profile is prepared? I don't see how this can be an issue for the IRC as the TeMIX profile has no impact on IRC members. I am delighted help with an IRC profile and am a very strong advocate for such.

> Using TeMix as the sole communicator of market clearing price for energy. The IRC has repeatedly expressed concern with TeMix being the underlying base for the information exchanges, rather than adopting currently shared practices of the IRC markets, the only developed wholesale energy markets, and expanding on common practices to integrate new forms of market participants.
