Subject: RE: RDDL & XSD

Title: RDDL & XSD

Dave,

Sorry for the tardy reply.

The main reason for putting the separate XSD files into their own namespace was for practicality.  Some Java based tools used for code generation and validation didn’t properly handle them all being in the same namespace.  If you’d like more details I can bring Dan Hennage into the discussion.

I think the next schema we should work on is EventState.  That is the basis for the messages sent between the Utility/ISO and the facility.  Using that as a starting point we can work back and bring in whatever other schemas are necessary based upon our focus.  I think we will find that many of the schemas that are defined are for the Utility interface which we aren’t focusing on right now and thus we won’t have to deal with them at this time.

Thanks,

Subject: [energyinterop] RDDL & XSD

Hello again,

Below there is a link to a draft “RDDL” for the energyinterop namespace ( http://docs.oasis-open.org/ns/energyinterop/energyinterop-20090701 ). The namespace name is dictated by OASIS standards. See: http://docs.oasis-open.org/specGuidelines/namingGuidelines/metadata.html#declaredNamespace

Here are questions for the group:

1)      I will assume the namespace is acceptable unless there is objection.  Is there any objection?

2)      The OpenADR defines a namespace for type(s).  The EventInfo type has it’s own namespace.  I prefer to consolidate. Could one of the OpenADR folks explain the reasoning behind the granularity of the OpenADR namespaces?

3)      The Copyright citation (for example in the attached XSD) only cites OASIS (not any of the authors of the OpenADR spec).  Is more than this required?  Is there a good way to honor the organization and authors of OpenADR V1.0?

I will defer changes to the other XSD’s until there has been a chance for comment.

Thanks!

Dave
