Subject: RE: [energyinterop] Groups - WD3 Mockup (WD3 Mock-Up.doc) uploaded
I refer all of you to the paper I posted on demand response and dynamic pricing. (link below) http://www.oasis-open.org/apps/org/workgroup/energyinterop/download.php/3536 9/eScholarship_UC_item_7nm2f6sx%5B1%5D.pdf The idea is that dynamic pricing should/will become the default retail pricing. Traditional demand response involves paying a customer for reductions relative to an administratively set base line. If we call dynamic pricing a form of demand response then we only muddle these critical distinctions. Edward G. Is everything Demand Response? You have listed all the areas of Energy Interoperation, although the charter was not specifically DR. Or Is Demand Response a particular interaction pattern that communicates the standard interactions in particular business scenarios? tc "A man should never be ashamed to own that he has been in the wrong, which is but saying ... that he is wiser today than yesterday." -- Jonathan Swift Toby Considine Chair, OASIS oBIX TC Facilities Technology Office University of North Carolina Chapel Hill, NC Email: Toby.Considine@ unc.edu Phone: (919)962-9073 http://www.oasis-open.org blog: www.NewDaedalus.com -----Original Message----- From: Edward Koch [mailto:ed@akuacom.com] Sent: Wednesday, December 09, 2009 11:55 AM To: Considine, Toby (Campus Services IT); energyinterop@lists.oasis-open.org Subject: RE: [energyinterop] Groups - WD3 Mockup (WD3 Mock-Up.doc) uploaded Toby, In general I think the outline looks good. I recommend that we create a major heading called something like "DR Signals" and move sections 3 - 6 as sub sections under that. I think that will better allow us to address any issues that all DR signals will have in common and then specialize on the aspects of each of the different types of signals. To be clear I suggest we do the following: 3 DR Signals 3.1 Dynamic Price Signals 3.2 Reliability Signals 3.3 Emergency Signals 3.4 Market Participation -ed koch -----Original Message----- From: toby.considine@unc.edu [mailto:toby.considine@unc.edu] Sent: Monday, December 07, 2009 6:28 PM To: energyinterop@lists.oasis-open.org Subject: [energyinterop] Groups - WD3 Mockup (WD3 Mock-Up.doc) uploaded Mock-up of new document outline for discussion in working session on Wednesday -- Toby Considine The document named WD3 Mockup (WD3 Mock-Up.doc) has been submitted by Toby Considine to the OASIS Energy Interoperation TC document repository.
