Subject: Sequence Diagrams for the OpenADR event services

Enclosed please find some sequence diagrams in both a word format and the source EA document.

I started sketching out the sequence diagrams for the various scenarios for OpenADR as they relate  to the Event based services.  I started out with the basic conceptual interaction modes (i.e. push versus pull, acknowledged versus unacknowledged, etc) and then started to look at how those mapped to the Event services we have defined in EI.  For the point to point push model there are no issues with how the EI Event CRUD services map to the sequence diagrams, but for the pull model and the broadcast model there is not a consistent way to semantically express the CRUD operations through our single pull service.

I’m assuming that the way the specification works is that the defined services get translated one to one to services in a WSDL.  If that is the case then we may have to collapse some of our EI event services into a single service so that they are supported in both the push and pull models in a consistent fashion.  Please see the comment in red in the word document.  On the surface this may sound like a big change, but in reality it is a relatively minor change and does not substantively change the semantics or payloads of anything we have done to date.

Thanks,
