Subject: Background on European SOA for devices

This integration led to a significant reduction of time to market for innovative services. It also succeeded in promoting Devices Profile for Web Services (DPWS) as an OASIS standard and delivering different implementations. http://www.itea2.org/public/project_leaflets/SODA_results_oct-09.pdf http://www.itea2.org/getimage.php?type=result&result=5615 SOCRADES http://www.socrades.eu/Home/default.html http://www.socrades.eu/Documents/objects/file1259605272.78 IP SOCRADES Demonstration of Service-Oriented Architecture integrating Real and Virtual Devices http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0aRRvqEln2I SOCRADES - 02 Orchestration of Web Services on the Factory Floor http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VwXYh3CPwqk http://www.springerlink.com/content/05581001k35585k4/ DPWS – An Intro http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Devices_Profile_for_Web_Services The spec http://docs.oasis-open.org/ws-dd/ns/dpws/2009/01 The next step towards Web services in 6LoWPAN networks: SOAP over CoAP Since the movement towards the Internet of Things and Smart Objects is gaining in momentum more and more, WS4D is proud to contribute to this field. Therefore an Internet Draft is published in the active IETF CoRE working group, describing an approach to bind SOAP to the CoAP protocol. Since CoAP is currently in draft state, the SOAP-over-COAP is it of course also. Nevertheless, contributions and feedback to the draft are more than welcome.
