Subject: RE: [energyinterop] Groups -energyinterop-1-0-schema-wd23-wip7-edkoch.zip (energyinterop-1-0-schema-wd23-wip7-edkoch.zip) modified
No, no more recent version, yet. The primary ws-calendar schema pen is held by the ietf. I think it will be bteer, soon. tc "It is the theory that decides what can be observed." - Albert Einstein
From: Edward Koch [mailto:ed@akuacom.com] Bill, I tend to agree with the MW issue, but the structures we had put in place in wip 5 to accomodate not having to fix the units disappeared in wip 7. As I stated in my analysis I think this is OK and can easily live without them. In fact it makes the schemas much simpler to not have to accomodate them amd I now prefer not adding them back in. I've been working all weekend at generating an eiEvent xml document from the existing schemas (i.e. based on my wip 7 changes). I've been writing a tool to allow me to generate them and I think I am close. I'm not altogether satisfied with how much application level code is necessary to supplement an xml document that has been generated directly from the schemas in order to generate something I consider a conformant xml document, but so far no major issues. I've encountered a couple of issues that may need to be fed back into ei. There was a particular approach for defining the schedules that I discussed with Toby last week. I am employing some of those principles in my xml generation. There was one idea in particualr concering where to put the signal intervals which I will try to revisit when I have completed working with the existing schemas. BTW I've run into a couole of issues with ws-calaendar that I think I've seen come comments on already and may already be in the works. In particular I thought I saw some comment convering the recursive nature of the duration property. Is there a more recent version of the ws-calendar schemas that I should be using that address some of these issues? thanks, -ed koch From: William Cox [wtcox@CoxSoftwareArchitects.com] Ed -- William Cox
Information about the document named energyinterop-1-0-schema-wd23-wip7-edkoch.zip (energyinterop-1-0-schema-wd23-wip7-edkoch.zip) has been modified by Ed Koch.
Document Description: Enclosed are some suggested changes to the wip-7 schema. The changes are detailed in the modifications.txt file and include the following:
Modifications to wip7 schemas
Ed Koch
May 5, 2011
- Changed the substitution group of responseDescription from signalInformationBase to eventDescriptionBase
- Changed the substitution group of eventBaselineDescription from signalInformationBase to eventDescriptionBase
- Changed cardinality of EventDescriptorType:emixMarketContext to make it optional.
- Moved eitc:eiEventSchedule from EiMarketContext and put it back in EiEventType
- changed signalAmount back to signalAmountMW to fix the units. See below for explanation:
Some of the typing information that we were using in the signal definitons has disappeared in wip7. We may not need it if you consider the following:
price - requires currency, but that can be part of the market context of the overall event and does not need to be defined in the signal definition.
priceRelative - unitless number
priceMultiplier - unitless number
signalAmount - this needs units, but if we change it back to signalAmountMW then we can fix the units. We can express all valid numbers using this unit and do not need to have variable units.
signalLevel - unitless number
signalPercent - unitless number
Since Toby removed the typing information then I suggest we leave it out.
