Subject: Issue about Manager-specific state model transitions

Short written summary of the topic we discussed at the end of the call.

FFMII specification allows state model transitions to be modeled only as Actions associated with a particular Step. The interface makes it possible for both the Assignee and the Manager to invoke Actions and therefore run the Work Request state model. However, currently it is not possible to specify Actions that would be available to the Manager but not to the Assignee. Such Actions may be sometimes needed to allow Manager to handle exceptions such as Work Request cancellation using state transitions not available to the Assignee via the field user interface.

Proposed solution: In ActionSpecification, define whether the Action is available to the Assignee. If not, then it can be only invoked by the Manager via the FFMII interface. By default, Actions are available to both Manager and Assignee.

I will provide the proposed document update in a separate submission.

BR, Johannes
