Subject: [humanmarkup-comment] HM.frameworks: (revamped)
I've revamped the HM.frameworks, which is our central 'non-technical' document. http://www.oasis-open.org/committees/humanmarkup/documents/HM.frameworks.txt ------- Kurt: It'll most likely have to be broken apart into individual files pretty soon. ;-) As we nail down on individual taxonomies one by one, we will make separate files for them. This document is comprehensive in terms of 'frameworks', but deliberately not so for 'taxonomies.'--it is too large, and we haven't gotten that far yet. ------ Joe: regarding your recommendation...I feel we really should identify the references within each framework, so we know where each taxonomic classification we are using comes from. ------ (if responding to this post, please <snip/> below ;-)) Ranjeeth Kumar Thunga -------------------- HM.FRAMEWORKS last updated: 24 October 2001 (contains frameworks and taxonomies) ---------------- -------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------- GENERAL INFORMATION: ------------------- FRAMEWORKS: the overall container for the taxonomies TAxONOMIES: the individual classification systems within the frameworks This document is never ending set of frameworks. It is DELIBERATELY not comprehensive. When a particular framework is mature, it can possibly be spun off into its own file. For example: "HMF.RELIGIONS" or "HMF.EMOTIONS" will be spun off at appropriate time. There will never be an exhaustive list of all frameworks. We will simply develop them one or a few at a time, depending on our resources. NOte: This is not a short term project. Each framework contains a section for 'references'. This is where we describe the authoritativereference pertaining to the taxonomies in that framework. There are several ways we can arrange human characteristics. Each 'framework' contains the various 'taxonomies' that are associated with it. Some of these 'frameworks' overlap with each other. That is fine. There is no 'one' way to break apart human characteristics. -------------------------------------------------------------- NONTECHNICAL HUMANMARKUP R&D: ------------------ 1) Amalgamating Resources and References 2) Defining new frameworks and taxonomies for those that don't exist yet -------------------------------------------------------------- TECHNICAL HUMANMARKUP R&D: ---------------- 1) Determining how these classifications fit into XML terms, the descriptors we have could be element names, values, types or attribute names, values, and types. 2) Determining how these modules interoperate with current frameworks. 3) Developing/customizing applications based on this human information. -------------------------------------------------------------- GENERAL REFERENCES: ----------------- http://groups.yahoo.com/group/humanmarkup/files/Conceptual/Human.Frameworks/ General/Elements.Attributes/elements.attributes.list http://groups.yahoo.com/group/humanmarkup/files/Conceptual/domain http://groups.yahoo.com/group/humanmarkup/files/Conceptual/Classes/Table.of.
