Subject: [humanmarkup] Web Services Component Model TC First Meeting

Hi Guys,

I'm still fighting myself tooth and toenail over whether or not to
travel to NYC area for the January 7 first meeting of the Web
Services Component Model TC. As an opportunity to make contacts for
our effort, it is worth doing. Money wise, it is very painful, so I'm
double checking to see if I can economize by staying with Ranjeeth or
Joe in Jersey City, and if either or both are interested in coming
along, which would include some kind of transportation to Hawthorne
NY just a few miles north of NYC near White Plains to the IBM
facilities where the meetings are scheduled at this point. We have a
teleconference this morning at 12 EST, and I will ask if there is any
possibility of attending by teleconference. However, that doesn't do
much for making contacts, nor does it provide the opportunity to make
a 20-minute presentation about our work, which I could do if I attend
in person. However, to be a founding member of that TC, and lay the
groundwork for a liaison if not a Joint Committee, with Topic Maps
Published Subjects, HumanMarkup and Web Services Component Model, I
have to attend that first meeting one way or another.

Warning, this is going to drastically affect my ability to contribute
more than subsistence to HumanMarkup.org, Inc., but it could lead to
an IBM sponsorship, since I do know some folks out here at IBM who
have been supportive in the past for my 3d work, but supportive and
funding are two different animals.

Also, I would like, if possible to have some kind of example to
present, like HumanML_Report, especially if it was along the lines of
pshychological human resources profiling info suitable for
performance evalutations as a low-hanging fruit to dangle in front of
our corporate brethren.

Ciao,
Rex
