Hi,

In reviewing the process for adding a new member to the TC list, I 
rediscovered this:

When a person requests a subscription to the private TC mail list the 
mail list server will send a confirmation message to  the TC chair, 
who will consult with OASIS staff to determine if the person is 
eligible to join the list; the person must be an  Individual OASIS 
member or an employee of an OASIS member organization. If the person 
is eligible then the TC chair will approve the subscription; the mail 
list server will subscribe the person and send a message to the TC 
chair with notification that the person has been subscribed to the 
list. If the newly subscribed person has not yet notified the TC 
chair of intent to join the TC, the chair may follow up with the 
person to find out if they intend to join the TC or just to observe. 
The TC chair is not required to do this, however, as the TC Process 
states that the person must specifically  notify the TC chair of 
intent to participate. In other words, subscribing to the mail list 
is not the same thing as requesting to become a member of the TC; the 
person must do both.
