Subject: Re: [humanmarkup] possible contacts (Fw: 15.328 cultural heritageworkshop at NIC2001)

As you mentioned Rex, we'll still need a spend a few more days before we
activate any prospecting strategy here, but in the meantime, I'll bring up
some ideas we can incorporate. In othe words, the TC is finally "ready for
business", but we'll need a few more days before we actively "advertise".

I am hesitant to post to our TC.outreach discussion on the TC COMMENT list
yet--we have nothing to hide of course, but I don't know if it is relevant
for the public--yet. I think it will be when we have firmly established
such a strategy.

Joe, Sudhakar, Rob, and Manos: it's kinda like a catch-22...we'll have to
establish contacts to get going with the subcommittees, but we need to
establish a subcommittee a bit before establishing contacts. Please
determine what's the best next steps are to meet your goals...I'll create a
general "outreach" strategy for all of us to use right now.

---------------

Part of the outreach strategy is to differentiate the types of interested
parties we will be seeking.

The different types of parties we have to differently target are. We have
to write targeted emails for each of these p

        - those who demonstrate *non-technical interest*
        - those who demonstrate *technical interest*
        - press/news interested in publishing about effort (coordinated with
Carol)
        - parties who may *utilize* the specs, or subset of specs
        - parties who may want to *develop* specs, or subset of specs
        - parties who can provide *authority* for specs
        - parties who can serve as *liaisons* or intermediates
        - parties who are interested in *sponsoring* parts of the effort
(TBD)

I'll made a note of this on our TC.outreach.txt document...
