Hi Everyone,
For this week's OASIS TC meeting this is one of the agenda
topics under SBIR/STTR Grant Proposals, and, for Humanmarkup.org's
next meeting (next Wednesday 5:30 p.m. on YahooIM) this will also be a
topic.
Overview
for
Virtual/Augmented Reality for Immersive
Environments
Enabling
E-Communities and Communities of/for Practice for Medicine and
Emergency Management
Multi-Purpose Immersive Environments for Remote
Diagnosis and Treatment of Physical and Mental/Emotional Conditions
under Stress and/or Triage
This will be a
collaboration of Humanmarkup.org, Inc., NDSU ATL, OASIS HPCDML SC,
W3DC Medical Working Group and QDA with Starbourne Communications
Design for Remote Medical Visualization in 3D for use in emergency
treatment situations modelled in scenarios for conducting Remote
Diagnosis and Triage, delivering diagnosis-specific treatments and
providing Remote Mental and Emotional Counseling, while simultaneously
accessing and adding to existing medical and psychological Knowledge
Bases.
This Grant Proposal can center on two specific kinds of applications
which have significant commercial potential:
1. HumanMLWriteReport Collaboration Application
with Face-Enhanced Chat module.

Features:
-Individual Embedded 3D Avatar Head Windows for Chat
Participants
(adaptable for panelists in 'webinars')
-Web
and on-site attendees have feedback capability using shared
WriteReport to capture audience reactions as well as
facial
responses of chat windows
-Automatic HumanML annotations in transcript of session
-Individual Knowledge/Information Capture
-Annotations tabulated for summarizing (report writing and
report delivery for analyses and conclusions ready for use
in
decision-making
-Adaptable for shared situations such as collaborative
remote
diagnosis and triage decisions in emergency treatment
scenarios
-Adaptable for Web Services Portals as modular
configuration
2. 3D Medical Imaging for Shared
Immersive Collaboration Engvironment
Features:
-Standardized 3D Human Medical representation of organ
systems
-Adaptable in modular fashion for quick representation of
conditions (fever, sweating, convulsions, etc), injuries
(broken
limbs, lacerations, gunshot wounds, etc) and combinations
(infected lacerations, injury progressing into shock,
etc.)
-Capable of demonstrating treatment quickly
-Capable of simultaneously entering observational data
into
emergency treatment form recorded locally and remotely for
later inclusion in individual case files
-Capable of recording on-site digital photography, video and
audio
for
later transcription using HumanML--HPCDML + HMML(Legal)
This is offered as a
starting point for collaborations in developing the final
proposals.
