Subject: RE: [icom] Draft Minutes of ICOM TC Meeting, December 9, 2009

Here is an amendment to the minutes for  “2. Review and feedback for draft model”

The TC meeting participants also discussed about the concept of membership in Group. The Group class defines two attributes “actors” and “groups.” The “actors” attribute represents the direct members of the group. The “groups” attribute represents the subgroups of the group. The members of a group is a derived concept which is the union of the direct members in “actors” attribute and the members of the subgroups (computed recursively).

The group membership was studied alongside the membership concept for Community and Space. The latter membership concept is derived from access control policies, which are defined in terms of ACL for groups and actors, and role assignments in the scope.

Eric

Subject: [icom] Draft Minutes of ICOM TC Meeting, December 9, 2009

Minutes of ICOM TC Meeting, December 9, taken by Eric S. Chan

Agenda

1.   Roll Call

2.   Review and feedback for draft model

3.   AOB

1. The following eligible members were present

Deirdre Lee

Laura Dragan

Marc Pallot

Patrick Durusau

Rafiul Ahad

Eric Chan

2.   Review and feedback for draft model

Participants reviewed some of the issues discussed in the November 25 TC Meeting (see the draft minutes http://www.oasis-open.org/apps/org/workgroup/icom/email/archives/200912/msg00003.html). Marc would review the discussions and evaluate the proposed solutions against some use cases.

Eric requested TC’s agreement to rename the attribute “members” of Community to “actors” to represent the containment relation between Community and Actor’s. This will emphasize that membership cannot be represented by the attribute but would require access control policies using the directory elements, such as groups, roles, and actors.

Eric also requested TC’s agreement to rename Accessor to Owner. Accessor may be introduced as a super-class of Owner.

Laura had taken an action item to update the RDF model in Figure 4b of http://wiki.oasis-open.org/icom.

3.  AOB

Due to closeness to the Christmas Holiday, the TC members at this Meeting agreed to reschedule the Dec 23 TC Meeting to Dec 16. Eric would send the agenda for the TC Meeting on Dec 16.

The meeting was adjourned.
