Subject: Normative vs. Non-normative references

Chet,

We are nearing a final version of the ICOM document and a question has arisen about the normative vs. non-normative references section.

We have a number of references, mostly to RFCs, in the document that do not appear in either the normative or non-normative section of the document.

The TC has discussed whether all the references (RFCs or not) need to appear either as normative or non-normative references without reaching a consensus position.

Can you give us some guidance on whether references must all be accounted for (as in appear in) the normative or non-normative section of an OASIS committee document?

Thanks!

Hope you are having a great week!

Patrick
