TC Closure?

To the members of the IHC Technical Committee:

It appears that there has been no activity in this committee for a long time; while the calendar reflects bi-weekly meetings, the last meeting minutes posted were in August of 2007. The TC does not meet the minimum membership requirements and is now without a Chair. There are a fair number of observers noted but they do not count towards the membership quota.

Is there anyone on this list who would like to step up to the challenge of setting a course for this group, increasing membership and producing the deliverables noted in the Charter?

While this group seems to have fallen by the wayside, there is other work which I believe many of you actively participate in and for that, on behalf of all OASIS Staff, I extend my thanks. Many good specifications related to healthcare are being produced in the Emergency Management TC, and the new XSPA TC is helping to fill in some gaps in the HITSP profiles. I expect that in some way this TC has done exactly what was hoped – that is, to raise visibility of healthcare-related issues across the spectrum of OASIS committees. Thanks to the members, OASIS has a solid relationship with HITSP which continues to reference OASIS specifications in their profiles.

Unless a plan is put forth I expect to close the TC on 10 October (two weeks from today).
