Subject: RE: [kmip-comment] KMIP communication

hi -

my understanding of the TR-69 and TR-98 standards from the Broadband Forum (was DSL Forum) are focused on management/configuration and don't deal with key management in any way?

In any case, you'll find more in-depth discussion of KMIP, including the relationship of the protocol to transport security, in these four documents that were made available for public review in December 2009:

specification:
http://docs.oasis-open.org/kmip/spec/v1.0/cd06/kmip-spec-1.0-cd-06.pdf

usage guide:
http://docs.oasis-open.org/kmip/ug/v1.0/cd05/kmip-ug-1.0-cd-05.pdf

profiles:
http://docs.oasis-open.org/kmip/profiles/v1.0/cd04/kmip-profiles-1.0-cd-04.pdf

use cases:

http://docs.oasis-open.org/kmip/usecases/v1.0/cd05/kmip-usecases-1.0-cd-05.pdf

We are in process of initiating a second round of public review, so revised versions of these four documents will be available shortly.

You can also find a white paper on KMIP at:

Subject: [kmip-comment] KMIP communication

Hi All,

I'm interested in knowing about using KMIP.

I have seen KMIP documentation (Skipping some pages), It just looks like a bit simillar to TR-069/098.

As I have learned, KMIP uses TTLV format,

Can you any one help me out on How the Client to server and Server to Client communication happens, Clearly, Using HTTP or some other protocol or process.

Is there any client using KMIP.

Thanking you for helping me in this regard,
