Subject: 60-day Public Reviews for KMIP Specification V1.4 and KMIP Profiles V1.4 COS01 - end November 7th

OASIS Members and other interested parties,

Members of the OASIS Key Management Interoperability Protocol (KMIP) TC [1] have recently approved a Special Majority Ballot [2] to advance Key Management Interoperability Protocol Specification Version 1.4 CS01 and Key Management Interoperability Protocol Profiles Version 1.4 CS01 as Candidate OASIS Standards (COS). These COSs now enter a 60-day public review period in preparation for a member ballot to consider their approval as OASIS Standards.

Key Management Interoperability Protocol Specification Version 1.4
Candidate OASIS Standard 01
09 August 2017

and

Key Management Interoperability Protocol Profiles Version 1.4
Candidate OASIS Standard 01
09 August 2017

The Key Management Interoperability Protocol (KMIP) is a single, comprehensive protocol for communication between clients and servers to manage a wide range of encryption keys. By replacing redundant, incompatible key management protocols, KMIP provides better data security while at the same time reducing expenditures on multiple products.

KMIP Specification v1.4 is intended for developers and architects who wish to design systems and applications that interoperate using the Key Management Interoperability Protocol Specification.

KMIP Profiles v1.4 specifies conformance clauses that define the use of objects, attributes, operations, message elements and authentication methods within specific contexts of KMIP server and client interaction.

Three Statements of Use were received for each from Cryptsoft Pty Ltd, P6R Inc. and Hewlett Packard Enterprise [3].
