In our KMIP TC meeting yesterday (22-Aug-2013), we voted to submit the KMIP Specification V1.1 Errata and KMIP Profiles V1.1 Errata for 2-week public review. The motion was:
Tim Hudson moves that the KMIP TC: 1) confirm that the changes documented in “KMIP Specification V1.1 Errata wd02” (https://www.oasis-open.org/apps/org/workgroup/kmip/download.php/50045/kmip-spec-v1.1-errata01-wd02%2023july13.doc) and “KMIP Profiles V1.1 Errata wd01” (https://www.oasis-open.org/apps/org/workgroup/kmip/download.php/50047/kmip-profiles-v1.1-errata01-wd01%2023jul13.doc) as posted by Bob Griffin on 23-July-2013 do not constitute substantive changes; 2) approve these documents as Committee Specification Drafts; and 3) request the co-chairs to submit a request for a 15-day public review of these document.
Seconded by Kiran Thota. Passed by unanimous voice vote, with no objections or abstentions.
Please go ahead and initiate the public review, using the existing tickets. Subhash will send you a link to the minutes for yesterday’s KMIP TC call, including the record of this motion, as soon as possible. Anything else you need from us to initiate this public review?

Subject: Problem with your Errata documents as submitted
Hi Bob,
We started working on the TC's Errata request (https://tools.oasis-open.org/issues/browse/TCADMIN-1352 and https://tools.oasis-open.org/issues/browse/TCADMIN-1353) and we've encountered a pretty fundamental problem that I ask the TC to resolve.
The OASIS process specifies that the errata goes with the corresponding OS. ("... the Approved Errata shall be made available with the OASIS Standard it corrects..."). Additionally, errata are only created for OASIS Standards. They don't apply for Committee Notes.
Reviewing the submitted document, it contains the errata content for two separate OASIS Standards - KMIP Specification V1.1 and the KMIP Profiles V1.1 as well as errata for the Usage Guide.
I realize that the content is extremely short for each individual errata but we need to have them as separate documents so that we can publish them along with their individual OSs.
I ask the TC to create two separate working drafts of the errata - one for KMIP Specification and one for KMIP Profiles, hold a vote to reapprove them and send me the minutes to the meeting with the approval. I will handle them under the existing set of tickets.
For the Usage Guide, you can simple create a new working draft with the fixes, approve it as a Committee Note and submit that one to me separately.
Also, with regard to section 5, you don't need a conformance clauses section in an errata document so you can leave that out.
I wish we had caught this sooner but it shouldn't take too much to sort this out.
