Is anyone aware of the reason some cipher suites are missing from the MAY support list while other, apparently weaker ones, are included?
In particular, TLS_ECDHE_RSA_WITH_AES_256_CBC_SHA is missing (since v1.0 of the profiles documents), while the AES_128 version of the same is included. Both versions with the stronger hash are included. Prior to v2.0 all four DHE_RSA combinations
were included as well.
My suspicion is that it is an oversight that has never been picked up, but perhaps someone who has been on the list longer recalls a reason.
