Subject: Fwd: Email sent to voters re: [kmip] Groups - Ballot closed: "Approve advancing KMIP Specification v2.1 and KMIP Profiles v2.1, both Committee Specification 01, as candidate OASIS Standards"

Members of the KMIP TC,Â

As you know, your ballot to approve presenting KMIP Spec v2.1 CS01 and KMIP Profiles v2.1 CS01 to the membership as candidates for OASIS Standard has closed and passed. Congratulations on reaching this next milestone.Â

TC Admin will now start the 60-day public review for each. JIRA ticketsÂhttps://issues.oasis-open.org/browse/TCADMIN-3775ÂandÂhttps://issues.oasis-open.org/browse/TCADMIN-3776Âhave been opened to track this work. We expect to have the PR announced shortly. I anticipate the public review to close on or around October 2nd and the membership call for consent to start on the 3rd and close on the 17th. Dates of course are my best projection.Â

Let us know if you have any questions. We'll let you know when the public review is ready.Â

Best,Â

/chetÂ

Description
Key Management Interoperability Protocol Specification Version 2.1 [1] and Key Management Interoperability Protocol Profiles Version 2.1 [2] were approved as a Committee Specifications on 07 May 2020. The TC has received 3 Statements of Use from Cryptsoft, Utimaco, and PrimeKey [3]. Do you now approve submitting this Committee Specification to the OASIS membership for consideration as a candidate OASIS Standard?

Approving this ballot will result in a 60-day public review after which, if no comments are received, the candidate will be submitted to a membership-wide call for consent. If comments are received, the TC will be asked to vote by Special Majority Ballot on whether to continue to the membership vote. This is explained in TC Process section 3.4.2, Public Review of a Candidate OASIS Standard [3].

This ballot requires a Special Majority Vote [4]. The TC roster currently lists 24 voting members. In order to pass, at least 16 (2/3 x 24) members have to vote Yes and no more than 6 (1/4 x 24) members may vote No.
