Dear Anders,

many thanks for your feedbacks very precious for improving the quality of the AKN specs.
There are actually typos, that we will amend in the Errata version.

Our detailed answers in the text.

Best regards,
Monica and Fabio

To whom it may concern,

Errata:

Part 1 Vocabulary: 4.3.3 Naming is an editorial process
  • The following is not a complete sentence."Since these URIs/IRIs, are derived in many ways from the “official” or the “most used” names of the documents, but do not necessarily look like them."
  • Also, the last sentence of the section looks like it should have replaced the second to last sentence, instead of being appended behind it.
** right!
Proposal:
"These URIs/IRIs are derived in many ways from the “official” or the “most used” names of the documents, but do not necessarily look like them. Because they are defined by the creators of the XML representation, they are considered editorial in nature. Nonetheless, it is of the uttermost importance that they are created correctly and precisely according to the Akoma Ntoso Naming Convention or any other functionally equivalent naming convention."

Part 1 Vocabulary: 5.6 Attributes for managing the presentation
  • The final paragraph of the (HTML-)section mentions attribute @breakWith, but the following AKN XML snippet incorrectly uses @style for the same purpose.
  • It seems like the <eol> tag in the final AKN XML snippet of the section is placed at the wrong "America's" word. Should have been the second, not the first.
** right!. We will amend it. Many thanks.

part2-specs/schemas/akomantoso30.xsd, line 41:
  • There is no URL specified here: "specified in the file licence.txt that can also be found at the URL xxxx"

** Yes, this has been left out on purpose in this stage. The actual license of the AKN XSD (and the corresponding license text) will be finalized once the vocabulary becomes a Committee Standard. In our plan it will receive a permissive license cc-by, like github LegalDocML repo. Different issue is the IPR on the documentation (e.g., vocabulary) that follows the OASIS IPR policy.

Questions:
1. What is the meaning of the "3.0" part of the AKN namespace? As far as I understand, AKN is currently on (or approaching) version 1.0.
** Akoma Ntoso has been a working proposal of a specific United Nation project, that fathered versions 1.0 and 2.0. The "3.0" fragment in the namespace means that the OASIS LegalDocML TC recognizes that it inherited the AKN vocabulary and schema from the UN 2.0 release. LegalDocML decided to not override existing usages of AKN 1.0 and 2.0 already in place in some institutions, but at the same time to provide continuity and evolutionary paths for them, so that a similar sounding namespace and the same root element have been maintained. For this reason we have numbered the OASIS release as 3.0.
2. What is the meaning of the "WD17" part of the AKN namespace?
** the WD17 is the 17th working draft (WD17) of the provisional release within the TC. When it becomes a Committee Standard we will remove such specification. The final namespace will most probably be simply "http://docs.oasis-open.org/legaldocml/ns/akn/3.0/"
