Subject: Fwd: [members] Palmirani and Durusau named OASIS Distinguished Contributors

Hi Monica,

Congratulations! This is well deserved. Your hard work and dedication has done so much for not only the TCs but for all the people who will benefit from the products you've helped make possible. I am just sorry that I couldn't be there to see you receive the award in person.

Well done!

OASIS is proud to announce Monica Palmirani and Patrick Durusau have been named Distinguished Contributors to OASIS.

Distinguished Contributors are recognized for their Introduction of new work, influence and visibility in the industry, ability to build consensus, leadership and service.Their participation substantially raises the quality and breadth of OASIS technical work.

Monica has been a significant contributor to the LegalXML community since 2010.  Her leadership in the Member Section Steering Committee, LegalDoc ML and LegalCiteM Technical Committees has been a significant part of these groups' success.  These activities, helped bring Akoma Ntoso (a globally respected project with origins in Africa) to OASIS and attracted many new members from industries, countries and regions not frequently active in the standards space.

Patrick's service to OASIS is at two levels.  As a TC member and co-chair he has been influential in a variety of TCs but most noteworthy the Office TC and several of its Subcommittees.  The resulting specifications have enabled a new industry of productivity tools now in use around the globe.  Patrick was a significant force in the work to prepare the OASIS Open Document Format for Office Applications Standard for submission and ultimate acceptance as ISO/IEC 26300. Patrick's influence extends outside his TC work. His review and submission of over 650 comments in 30 Public Reviews reflects an exemplar dedication to specification quality.

Monica and Patrick join the Distinguished Contributor hall of fame at  https://www.oasis-open.org/member-roster/distinguished-contributors and are now eligible for all the benefits thereof.

Please join me in  congratulating this year's recipients,

Scott...
