I am pleased to announce the winners of the 2019 Open Standards Cup. We had a number of deserving projects and standards this year and all are truly deserving of recognition and applause.Â

2019 Outstanding Approved Winner

MQTT Version 5.0 (https://www.oasis-open.org/committees/mqtt/

One of the fundamental standards powering thousand of IoT networks, MQTT v5.0 added significant new features including enhancements for scalability, improved error reporting, extensibility mechanisms, and performance improvements to support small clients.ÂMQTT is designed to support messaging for devices requiring small code footprints, low power/bandwidth, variable availability, and negotiated delivery guarantees.

2019 Outstanding New Initiative

OSLC Open Project (https://github.com/oslc-op and public web presence at https://open-services.net/)

The OSLC-OP is developing standards, frameworks and test suites for capabilities that enable the development of integrated toolchains supporting software development and life-cycle management. In 2019, they migrated to an Open Project to grow their community and open the work to contributors beyond the boundaries of OASIS.Â
