Subject: [legalxml-courtfiling-comment] tables in Court Document 1.1 CandidateSpec

Hi

The candidate spec (draft of 2002-10-01) includes the <spanspec> element.

The spec explains that the table model is based on the table element
used in the DocBook DTD, which is in turn based on the CALS table model.

Some of the DocBook documentation mentions an intent to move to the
OASIS Open XML Exchange Table Model. This is included as an alternative
table model in DocBook XML 4.2. (DocBook 3.0 uses tables derived from
the full CALS table model).

Other than the <spanspec> element, the Court Doc table model on a quick
review looks like a subset of the XML Exchange Table Model.

My questions:

1. Which version of DocBook are the tables modeled on?
2. Has the pros and cons of being a subset of the exchange model been
discussed?

thanks

Jason
