Subject: Attorney Bar Number Identifier
In ECF 4.0, section
3.3.1.7 Filer and Party Identifiers, the very last sentence states: “The
attorney elements for a self-represented litigant SHOULD NOT include a bar
number.” State Supreme
Courts typically handle attorney discipline cases. Very often in these types of
matters, the respondent attorney (i.e. the attorney up for discipline, such as
disbarment) is Pro Se (i.e. self represented). So even though the attorney is
the party in these types of matters, the court will want the attorney’s
bar number included in the efiling communication. How should this be
done so as not to violate the constraint in section 3.3.1.7? Or is this
constraint ill founded? |
