Subject: RE: [legalxml-courtfiling] HR 2458 - E-Government Act of 2002
Hope the meeting in Las Vegas went well. I look forward to reading the minutes of the meeting... and seeing that 2.0 version is jump started. I was attending the XML 2002 Conference. In addition to attending the conference on Friday 12/13/02 i participated in the first face to face meeting of the OASIS eGovernment Technical Committee. The bottom line seems to be XML standards/technologies are going mainstream in 2003. I would note too that a vendor at the conference presented information about the XML law enforcement data exchange implemented in Wisconsin. there were other case studies as well where XML technologies are being applied/extended... the knowledge of these extension of existing standards such as the Court Filing specification for "individual business" use should be a comfort to those in our legal xml community who have concerns about "one-size fitting all". Happy Holidays to all!
