signature block is a term we have been using on the sub committee to refer
to the part of a contract that contains markup for the place where a printed
contract document will be signed. These can be quite complex and must make
provision for multiple persons, witnesses etc. Sometimes there is a
hierarchy of authorities involved. Sometimes people want witnesses aligned
beside the signature etc. There may have to be space for a seal.

regards
Peter
