In my role as Chair of the Electronic Filing Committee of the American Bar Association (EF-ABA), I am pleased to inform the members of the LegalXML OASIS eNotary TC about an opportunity to participate telephonically or by email statement in our ABA face to face meeting as persons who may have a particular issue to apprise the Committee on. One agenda item that may be of interest to members of the eNotary TC is the issue of authentication as opposed to content attestation in regards to XML court filings. A committee to create electronic filing standards sponsored by the National Center for State Courts concluded in a  2002  report that content attestation was sufficient, with authentication of filers being left to the Courts to accomplish in non-specific ways. see http://www.ncsc.dni.us/ncsc/ctp/htdocs/msworddocs/Standards%20for%20EF%20Processes%20to%20National%20Consortium%207-15-02.doc. This translates roughly into a recommendation to hash files that are filed during the process of receiving them at the Co
