OASIS: Upcoming Board of Directors' Election

Hello Everyone,

It's time to start thinking about who you'd like to see next on the OASIS
Board of Directors, so mark your calendars:

NOMINATIONS OPEN:    2 APRIL
NOMINATIONS CLOSE:  30 APRIL

BALLOTING BEGINS:    1 MAY
BALLOTING ENDS:     31 MAY

RESULTS ANNOUNCED:  15 JUNE


As you know, the governance of OASIS is democratically elected.  Our Board
is comprised of 8 Directors, who have staggered terms.  This means that we
elect 4 new Directors each year.

Representatives of any OASIS ORGANIZATIONAL member may nominate ANY
INDIVIDUAL for the Board.  It is very important to note that individuals are
elected to the Board, not representatives of member companies.

You may opt to nominate someone who represents an OASIS member organization,
or someone from outside the Consortium that you believe would be capable of
providing the organization with strategic direction.

Nominees must submit a biography and a letter to the voting membership
describing their interest in (and qualifications for) serving on the Board.
The letter may also include additional information, such as thoughts about
OASIS' future, ideas for technical activities, and suggestions for business
development initiatives or strategic partnerships.

Members will be able to review these materials on the OASIS website, and
will vote for those individuals they believe will capably provide strategic
leadership to the organization for the next two years.

Given current happenings in the XML world, we're expecting an exciting
election!
