OASIS News 8 September 2003 Welcome to OASIS News, a weekly update of announcements, accomplishments, and activities for the international standards consortium. --------------------------------------------------------------------- SAML, WSRP, and XCBF Are Ratified as OASIS Standards SAML v1.1, WSRP v1.0, and XCBF v1.1 have been approved by the OASIS membership at-large as OASIS Standards. Members of the OASIS Security Services TC, OASIS Web Services for Remote Portlets TC, and OASIS XML Common Biometric Format TC are to be congratulated on their work in developing these specifications. The revised Process, together with a summary of changes and revision history, may be found at: http://www.oasis-open.org/committees/process.php --------------------------------------------------------------------- XML.org to Launch Focus Area on Localisation OASIS, in cooperation with the Limerick Localisation Research Centre (LRC), is preparing to launch a new XML.org Focus Area to showcase the standards, players, events, and news for the Localisation community. Members of OASIS have an exclusive opportunity to become founding sponsors of the new Focus Area. Sponsorship provides a low-cost way to increase your visibility and receive recognition as a major player in the Localisation standards arena. For more information, please contact carol.geyer@oasis-open.org. --------------------------------------------------------------------- XLIFF 1.1 Public Review Period Ends 24 September Members of OASIS and the public are asked to review the XML Localisation Interchange File Format (XLIFF) 1.1 Committee Draft before 24 September. A specification for multi-lingual data exchange, XLIFF allows any software provider to produce a single interchange format that can be delivered to and understood by any localization service provider.
