XML.org to Launch Focus Area on Localisation

OASIS, in cooperation with the Limerick Localisation Research Centre
(LRC), is preparing to launch a new XML.org Focus Area to showcase the
standards, players, events, and news for the Localisation community.
Members of OASIS have an exclusive opportunity to become founding
sponsors of the new Focus Area. Sponsorship provides a low-cost way to
increase your visibility and receive recognition as a major player in
the Localisation standards arena. For more information, please contact
carol.geyer@oasis-open.org.

XLIFF 1.1 Public Review Period Ends 24 September

Members of OASIS and the public are asked to review the XML Localisation
Interchange File Format (XLIFF) 1.1 Committee Draft before 24
September. A specification for multi-lingual data exchange, XLIFF allows
any software provider to produce a single interchange format that can be
delivered to and understood by any localization service provider.
Supporting the entire localization process, XLIFF is product independent
and open enough to allow the development of tools compatible with an
implementer's own proprietary data formats and company culture.
