OASIS Announces the Formation of Four DCML TCs

A call for participation has been issued for four new DCML TCs:

* The OASIS DCML Framework (DCML-Frame) TC will create a data model and
format suitable for use in tracking and exchanging information regarding the
contents of data centers and other IT resources.

* The OASIS DCML Applications and Services (DCML-AppServ) TC will expand on
the OASIS DCML Framework specification by defining extensions to represent
Applications and Services, as well as the information needed to manage these
extensions.

* The OASIS DCML Network (DCML-Network) TC will design a data model and an
XML format in order to facilitate the exchange of information regarding the
network elements in a data center and will focus primarily on network
equipment and technology.

*The OASIS DCML Server (DCML-Server) TC will define extensions to the DCML
Framework specification for managing and representing information about the
servers in a data center.

Public Review of SAML v2.0 Begins

The OASIS Security Services TC, whose purpose it is to provide an XML based
framework for the exchange of authentication and authorization information,
has approved the latest version of Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML)
as a Committee Draft. The draft of SAML v2.0 is now available for public
review until 31 October. Comments are solicited from all interested parties.

UBL v1.0 Submitted as OASIS Standard

The OASIS Universal Business Language (UBL) TC has completed the public
review period of the UBL v1.0 Specification and has recommended its
advancement for approval to become an OASIS Standard. Members will have
until the 15 Oct to familiarize themselves with the submission. On 16 Oct a
Call for Vote will be sent to the voting representatives of the OASIS member
organizations; balloting will close
on 31 Oct.

WS-Reliability v1.1 Submitted as OASIS Standard

The OASIS Web Services Reliable Messaging (WSRM) TC has completed the public
review period of the WS-Reliability v1.1 specification and has recommended
its advancement for approval to become an OASIS Standard. Members will have
until the 15 Oct to familiarize themselves with the submission. On 16 Oct a
Call for Vote will be sent to the voting representatives of the OASIS member
organizations; balloting will close on 31 Oct.

OASIS WSRP TC Releases Documents for Public Review

The OASIS Web Services for Remote Portlets (WSRP) TC has released three
documents for public review:

- WSRP Publish, Find and Bind (PFB) Abstract Model 

- WSRP - Universal Description, Discovery and Integration (UDDI) Technical
Note 

- WSRP - ebXML Registry Technical Note 

The OASIS WSRP Standard allows for the "plug-n-play" of portals.  Comments
are solicited from all interested parties.

Public Review of XACML v2.0 Begins

The OASIS eXtensible Access Control Markup Language (XACML) TC, whose
purpose it is to define a core schema and corresponding namespace for XML
authorization policies, has approved XACML v2.0 which is now available for
public review until 4 Nov. Comments are solicited from all interested
parties.
