OASIS News
7 October 2005

Welcome to OASIS News, a weekly update of announcements, accomplishments, and activities for the international standards consortium.

---------------------------------------------------------------
CAP v1.1 and XML Catalog v1.1 Are Ratified as OASIS Standards

Consortium members have voted to approve both the Common Alerting Protocol (CAP) v1.1 and XML Catalog v1.1 as OASIS Standards. CAP
provides a standard for emergency alerts and notifications to be packaged and sent in an XML format. XML Catalogs addresses the
issue of sharing documents by mapping both external identifiers and arbitrary URI references to URI references. Congratulations to
members of the OASIS Emergency Management TC and the OASIS Entity Resolution TC for all their efforts.
