OASIS News 3 February 2006 Welcome to OASIS News, a weekly update of announcements, accomplishments, and activities for the international standards consortium. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- EML and WSS Ratified as OASIS Standards Consortium members have voted to approve Election Markup Language v4.0 and WSS v1.1 as OASIS Standards. Election Markup Language (EML) v4.0 enables data exchanges for public and private election services. WS-Security v1.1 provides a technical foundation for implementation of security functions in messages implementing higher-level Web services applications. UBL defines a common XML library of business documents. The current specification was developed as a result of extensive collaboration between the OASIS UBL Small Business Subcommittee and the OASIS ebXML Business Process TC and provides an example of the benefits of cross-TC cooperation and synergy. Comments must be received by 18 Feb. http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/members/200602/msg00003.html ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Public Review of ebXML Business Process Specification Begins All interested parties are encouraged to provide commentary on the ebXML Business Process v2.0.2 Specification, which provides a standards-based business process foundation that promotes the automation and predictable exchange of business collaboration definitions using XML. Submitted for review by the OASIS ebXML Business Process TC, the specification package includes ebXML Business Process v2.0.2.
