OASIS News 17 February 2006 Welcome to OASIS News, a weekly update of announcements, accomplishments, and activities for the international standards consortium. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Public Review of SOA-RM Opens The OASIS SOA Reference Model (SOA-RM) TC has approved the SOA-RM v1.0 specification document as a Committee Draft and submitted it for public review. SOA-RM provides a core to guide and foster the creation of specific, service-oriented architectures. The 60-day review ends 14 April. http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/members/200602/msg00015.html ---------------------------------------------------------------------- OASIS Emergency Management TC Chair Receives Award Elysa Jones, chair of the OASIS Emergency Management TC, received the first annual Leadership in Emergency Interoperability award. Presented by the Emergency Interoperability Consortium (EIC), the award was given to Jones in recognition of her leadership and advocacy of the Common Altering Protocol (CAP) OASIS Standard and Emergency Data Exchange Language (EDXL). She accepted on behalf of the TC. http://www.eic.org/ ---------------------------------------------------------------------- OASIS PKI Member Section Elects New Steering Committee Peter Alterman of General Services Administration, June Leung of FundSERV Inc, John Sabo of Computer Associates, Ross Smith of Public Works and Government Services Canada, and Ann Terwilliger of VISA International were elected by members of the OASIS PKI Member Section to serve one-year terms on its Steering Committee. The group works to promote the adoption of the Public-Key Infrastructure as a foundation to enable secure e-business transactions. http://www.pkiforum.org/ ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Consortium Forms OASIS BIAS Integration TC A Call for Participation has been issued for the OASIS Biometric Identity Assurance Services (BIAS) Integration TC, which will define and describe methods and bindings by which the INCITS BIAS framework of services, and elements of it, can be used within XML-based transactional Web services and service-oriented architectures. The inaugural TC meeting will be held via teleconference on 16 March. Responsibilities include customer service, daily content edits, and administration of web systems.
