OASIS News 12 June 2006 Welcome to OASIS News, a weekly update of announcements, accomplishments, and activities for the international standards consortium. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Public Review of WSN Commences The OASIS Web Services Notification TC has recently approved WS-BaseNotification, WS-BrokeredNotification, and WS-Topics as Committee Drafts and submitted them for public review. This specification package advances a pattern-based approach that allows Web services to disseminate information to one another. All interested parties are encouraged to submit comments by 23 June. http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/members/200606/msg00003.html ---------------------------------------------------------------------- OASIS Healthcare Committee Integrates SNOMED Vocabulary The OASIS International Health Continuum (IHC) Committee will integrate healthcare metadata expressions into existing standards using SNOMED-CT (Systematized Nomenclature of Medicine) and complementary vocabularies. The group has formed a SNOMED Subcommittee, chaired by John Madden of Duke University, to organize this work. All OASIS members are welcome to participate. http://www.oasis-open.org/committees/sc_home.php?wg_abbrev=ihc-snomed ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Companies Demonstrate Interoperability of SPML OASIS Standard at Burton Catalyst BMC Software, CA, Citrix, Oracle, Sun, and other members will join together to demonstrate interoperability of the Service Provisioning Markup Language (SPML) at the Burton Catalyst 06 conference, 14 June, in San Francisco. SPML is an approved OASIS Standard that lets companies manage the provisioning and allocation of identity information and system resources within and between organizations. http://www.oasis-open.org/committees/provision/ ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Editorial Board Organizes for OpenDocument XML.org An editorial board for the future OpenDocument XML.org online community is now being formed. Advancing the adoption of the OpenDocument OASIS Standard (ISO/IEC 26300), the site will provide technical and educational materials, collaborative workspaces, an events calendar, forums, blogs, and other discussion areas. Any OASIS member may serve on the editorial board.
