Nominations Open for OASIS Special Board of Directors Election

The OASIS Board of Directors has accepted the resignation of John
Jackson of GM and authorized a Special Election to fill his seat, which
expires with the 2007 annual election in July. Interested nominees
should make special note of the deadlines and requirements of the
nomination process. This schedule of elections closing 8 January has
been created in order that the newly elected Director can be seated at
the quarterly face-to-face Board meeting 24 January 2007 in Tampa FL,
USA.

Review EKMI Proposal

A draft TC charter has been submitted to establish the OASIS Enterprise
Key Management Infrastructure (EKMI) TC convened by Arshad Noor of
StrongAuth. The proposed Symmetric Key Services Markup Language (SKSML)
describes how applications may request life-cycle services for symmetric
keys from a server and how public-key cryptography may be used to
provide such services. The draft charter has been circulated for member
review and comments. The comment period is open until 22 November 2006.
Archives of the comment list are publicly accessible.
