OASIS Enterprise Key Management Infrastructure TC Forms

Members of OASIS have organized a TC to develop Symmetric Key Services
Markup Language. The OASIS Enterprise Key Management Infrastructure
(EKMI) TC will define and develop SKSML, which describes how
applications may request life-cycle services for symmetric keys from a
server and how public-key cryptography may be used to provide such
services. The TC is convened by Arshad Noor.

Review ebXML Registry Profile for OWL

The OASIS ebXML Registry TC has recently approved the ebXML Registry
Profile for Web Ontology Language (OWL) v1.5 specification as a
Committee Draft and submitted the package for public review. The
specification defines the ebXML Registry profile for publishing,
management, discovery and reuse of OWL Lite Ontologies. The public
review ends 11 February 2007.

Review WS-SecurityPolicy

The OASIS Web Services Secure Exchange TC has recently approved the
WS-SecurityPolicy 1.2 specification as a Committee Draft and submitted
the package for public review. WS-Policy defines a framework for
allowing Web services to express their constraints and requirements.
The public review ends 10 February 2007.

OASIS ebXML IIC TC Approves IPR Transition

Members of the OASIS ebXML Implementation, Interoperability and
Conformance (IIC) TC have voted to adopt the "RF on Limited Terms" IPR
mode for their ongoing work. In selecting this mode, obligated TC
members agree to grant nonexclusive, worldwide, non-sublicensable,
perpetual patent licenses without payment of royalties or fees. See the

OASIS XLIFF TC Approves IPR Transition

Members of the OASIS XML Localisation Interchange File Format TC have
voted to adopt the "RF on RAND" Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) mode
for their work. As defined in the OASIS IPR Policy, "RF on RAND"
operates in the same manner as RAND, however, it does not permit the
patent holder to charge fees or royalties for the license.

Symposium Call for Participation Still Open

The OASIS Symposium 2007 will be held in San Diego on 15-20 April, and
the Program Committee will be meeting during the week of January 8th to
discuss the final program. Proposals for presentations, panel sessions,
and topics related to the different facets of eBusiness and Open
Standards may be submitted through the event website until 5 January
2007.
