OASIS News 4 December 2006 Welcome to OASIS News, a weekly update of announcements, accomplishments, and activities for the international standards consortium. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Nominations for OASIS Special Board of Directors Election Closes Soon The OASIS Board of Directors has accepted the resignation of John Jackson of GM and authorized a Special Election to fill his seat, which expires with the 2007 annual election in July. Interested nominees should make special note of the deadlines and requirements of the nomination process. The closing date for nominations is Wednesday, 6 Dec, 23:45 hrs, 11:45pm US EST (UTC -5). http://www.oasis-open.org/who/election_process.php ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Members Submit WebCGM as OASIS Standard The OASIS CGM Open WebCGM Technical Committee has submitted the WebCGM version 2.0 specification set, which is an approved Committee Specification, to be considered as an OASIS Standard. WebCGM is a new profile of the CGM standard (ISO/IEC 8632) that describes how CGM vectors, raster, and hybrid graphics are to be used on the Web. On 16 December, a Call for Vote will be issued to all OASIS member organizations. http://www.oasis-open.org/archives/members/200612/msg00003.html ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Committee Approves WS-Security Errata OASIS Web Services Security (WSS) TC has approved a set of Errata documents, WS-Security SOAP Message Security 1.1 Errata, X.509 Token Profile 1.1 Errata, Kerberos Token Profile 1.1 Errata, SAML Token Profile 1.1 Errata, and SOAP With Attachments (SWA) Profile Errata. The document set was submitted for public review and has been affirmed by the TC per the OASIS TC Process. CAM is an open XML-based system for using business rules to define, validate, and compose specific business documents from generalized schema elements and structures.
