Subject: 2007 Board and TAB Election Results
Members, OASIS is pleased to announce the results of the 2007 elections for the Board of Directors and Technical Advisory Board. Peter Brown of Pensive.eu was elected, and Mike DeNicola of Fujitsu, Eduardo Gutentag of Sun Microsystems, Claus von Riegen of SAP, and Michael Winters of IBM were re-elected to the Board of Directors. Their two-year terms begin 2 August 2007, when they join existing Board members whose seats expire in July 2008, Ed Cobb of BEA, Bob Glushko of the University of California, Berkeley, Frederick Hirsch of Nokia, and Jeff Mischkinsky of Oracle, as well as Patrick Gannon, who has an appointed seat on the Board as President and CEO of OASIS. Madhav Vodnala of Fiorano Software was elected and Martin Chapman of Oracle, Bill Cox of Cox Software Architects, and Hal Lockhart of BEA were re-elected to the Technical Advisory Board. Their two-year terms start 3 August 2007 when they join Abbie Barbir of Nortel, Bill Barnhill of Booz Allen Hamilton, and Andy Lee of Changfeng Open Standards Platform Software Alliance whose terms extend to July 2008. The Consortium would like to express our deepest appreciation to departing Board member, Chris Kurt of Microsoft, for his service and guidance since 2001. OASIS also recognizes Pete Wenzel of Sun Microsystems for his long-term participation on the TAB. Finally, we offer our thanks to all OASIS members who participated in the 2007 election process--by nominating candidates, volunteering to serve on our Boards, considering the candidate pool, and casting votes. OASIS continues to be distinguished by its open election process and the quality of its leadership.
