Publication as an ITU-T Recommendation (X.1303) helps ensure that CAP is deployed worldwide, giving technical compatibility for users across all countries. Developed by the OASIS Emergency Management TC, CAP is a simple, lightweight XML-based schema that provides a general-purpose format for the exchange of emergency alerts for safety, security, fire, health, earthquake and other events over any network. http://www.oasis-open.org/committees/emergency/ ------------------------------------------------------------------- DITA TC forms Enterprise Business Documents Subcommittee The new group will develop and recommend an approach to harmonizing the enterprise business document meta-model with the DITA OASIS Standard. Anyone involved or interested in moving narrative business documents into XML is welcome to participate. Ann Rockley of the Rockley Group and Michael Boses of In.vision Research are serving as co-chairs of the new Subcommittee, which also includes representatives of Justsystems and other members. http://www.oasis-open.org/committees/tc_home.php?wg_abbrev=dita-busdocs ------------------------------------------------------------------- Security Services TC approves SAML 2.0 Errata Participants in the OASIS Security Services TC have approved the Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML) 2.0 Errata. SAML provides an XML-based framework for creating and exchanging security information between online partners. http://www.oasis-open.org/archives/tc-announce/200711/msg00008.html ------------------------------------------------------------------- Members solicit feedback on proposed TaMIE TC charter Members are asked to review and comment on a draft charter to establish the OASIS Testing and Monitoring Internet Exchanges (TaMIE) TC. The group plans to define a test case scripting markup and execution model for Event-Driven Architectures (EDA). Proposers include representatives of AIAG, Axway, Fujitsu, NIST, and others. The comment period for the charter closes 30 Nov. http://www.oasis-open.org/archives/tc-announce/200711/msg00006.html ------------------------------------------------------------------- Public review begins for SPML 2.0 Errata The OASIS Provisioning Services TC has approved Errata for the Service Provisioning Markup Language (SPML) 2.0 as a Committee Draft and submitted it for public review. SPML provides an XML framework for managing the provisioning and allocation of identity information and system resources within and between organizations. The TC's work builds on the Search Retrieve via URL (SRU) specification by articulating Web services definitions for search and retrieval applications. Sandia has developed science-based technologies that support U.S. national security since 1949. Sandia representatives participate in the OASIS Emergency Interoperability Member Section and the associated Emergency Management TC. http://www.sandia.gov/ ------------------------------------------------------------------- Open CSA hosts four webinars on the role of SCA in SOA Beginning 10 Dec, the OASIS Open CSA Member Section will present four webinars on the Service Component Architecture (SCA) and its role in SOA. SCA encompasses a family of royalty-free specifications based on the idea that business function is provided as a series of services, which can be assembled together to create solutions that serve a particular business need. SCA provides a model both for the composition of services and for the creation of service components, including the reuse of existing application function within SCA compositions. The webinars are free, but registration is required. http://www.oasis-open.org/events/webinars/sca-2007.php ------------------------------------------------------------------- Dieter Weidenbrueck of PTC joins CGM Open Steering Committee Weidenbrueck, Senior Vice President Publishing Solutions for PTC, has been elected to serve a two-year term on the OASIS CGM Open Member Section Steering Committee.
