OGC and OASIS announce progress on standards cooperation

The Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) and OASIS summarized results of their
collaborative support for Web services, emergency management, e-business, and
security standards. OGC actively participates in a wide range of OASIS
technical committees, ensuring that the business requirements of the geospatial
community are represented in the standards development process. Once OASIS
Standards are approved, OGC champions their adoption by designing geospatial
extensions and profiles.

OASIS Standard vote on WSRP 2.0 opens

Balloting for the Web Services for Remote Portlets (WSRP) version 2.0
specification is underway now and will remain open until 31 March. WSRP enables
an application designer to select from a rich choice of compliant remote
content and application providers and integrate them with just a few mouse
clicks. WSRP 1.0 was approved as an OASIS Standard in August 2003. This
revision adds consumer-managed coordination, additional lifecycle management,
and a set of related aggregation enhancements. All organizational members of
OASIS are encouraged to vote: those who wish to discuss this ballot may do so
through member-discuss@lists.oasis-open.org.
