Subject: Announcing OASIS Changfeng Open Standards Lab Member Section
OASIS members: We are pleased to announce formation of the OASIS Changfeng Open Standards Lab (COSL) Member Section. This new group within OASIS will serve as a focal point in Asia for discussions of SOA-related open standards technology and implementation, End-to-End Resource Planning (EERP), and other relevant issues. You are invited to join with the proposers of the OASIS COSL Member Section in their work: * To serve as a focal point for discussions of SOA-related open standards technology and implementation, End-to-End Resource Planning (EERP), and other relevant issues as applicable in Asia; * To assist in the dissemination of, and collection of responses for EERP. The EERP effort focuses on how to build a framework that manages all services that a company requires to produce and deliver the products or services to its ultimate consumers. Therefore, EERP includes the extended research on how to evaluate services and processes subject to business objectives and how to composite and de-composite services subject to optimization. * To facilitate and encourage the re-use and information sharing for SOA-related standards, technologies, and applications. * To assist OASIS in promotion and adoption of open standards. * To facilitate incubation research related to SOA implementation and EERP. * Where the specific needs suggest additional work, to discuss, scope, and, if needed, initiate additional standardization projects within OASIS. OASIS Member organizations are invited to become Supporting Entities of the COSL Member Section by having their Primary Representative notify member-services@oasis-open.org. There is no additional cost to be a Supporting Entity of OASIS COSL and no dues allocations will be made for this Member Section. Organizations that affiliate with OASIS COSL will be eligible to vote in future Member Section Steering Committee elections and will be recognized on the Member Section web site. Any OASIS member may subscribe to the OASIS COSL Member Section mailing list by notifying member-services@oasis-open.org. Employees of Supporting Entities will be subscribed as full Members (able to post to the list); employees of organizations that are not Supporting Entities will be subscribed as Observers (able to receive messages but not post to the list). The OASIS COSL Member Section Steering Committee will consist of five members. To launch the Member Section, initial Steering Committee members were determined by the OASIS COSL proposers. The initial Steering Committee includes Eunju Kim, Ph.D. - NIA (National Information Society Agency of Korea), Andy Lee, Ph.D. - Changfeng Open Standards Platform, Yang Yupu - Beijing Digital China Limited. In addition, two members will be determined by member nomination and vote, within 60 days of this announcement.
