OASIS issues Call for Participation in new SET TC

All interested parties are invited to participate in the new OASIS Semantic Support for Electronic Business Document Interoperability (SET) TC. This group will specify semantic mechanisms to achieve interoperability among document standards based on UN/CEFACT Core Component Technical Specification used in B2B, B2G and G2G applications by continuing work initiated by the iSURF Project. The SET TC will operate under the RF on Limited Terms Mode under the OASIS IPR Policy. Asuman Dogac of METU serves an convenor; a TC chair will be elected at the first meeting, which will be held by teleconference on 11 July.

Members propose charters for DITA Adoption and SOA-EERP TCs

All interested parties are asked to review and comment on a draft charter to establish the OASIS Darwin Information Typing Architecture (DITA) Adoption TC. The group intends to raise awareness of the benefits offered by DITA, increase the demand for, and availability of, DITA-conforming products and services, and expand the DITA community of users, suppliers, and consultants. Proposers include representatives of OASIS Foundational Sponsor, IBM, and Sponsor members, Comtech Services, Oracle, and others. JoAnn Hackos, Ph.D., of Comtech serves as the convenor. The comment period closes 17 Jun.

Members are also asked to review and comment on a draft charter to establish the OASIS Service-Oriented Architecture End-to-End Resource Planning (SOA-EERP) TC. The group intends to focus on maximizing business value by enabling improved real-life eBusiness process and resource planning at both design and run times. The comment period closes 13 Jun.

COSL Member Section launches

The new OASIS Changfeng Open Standards Lab (COSL) Member Section will serve as a focal point in Asia for discussions of SOA-related open standards technology and implementation, End-to-End Resource Planning (EERP), and other relevant issues. All interested parties are invited to join this new Member Section.

Public review begins for ebMS Transport Binding for DSS v1.0

The specification defines an alternative transport binding for the Digital Signature Services (DSS) Core standard that uses the ebXML Messaging Service (ebMS). This profile is compatible with ebMS 2.0 and 3.0. The OASIS DSS eXtended TC seeks feedback from potential users, developers and all other interested parties. This public review ends 29 Aug.

TC approves UBL 2.0 Errata 01

The Universal Business Language (UBL) 2.0 Errata 01 was approved by members of the OASIS UBL TC after completing a public review. UBL is the product of an international effort to define a royalty-free library of standard electronic XML business documents such as purchase orders and invoices.

OASIS creates ODF IIC discussion list

OASIS has created a new mailing list for members and non-members to explore a proposal to form an ODF Implementation, Interoperability and Conformance (IIC) Technical Committee. The new TC would provide a means for software implementers and service providers to create applications that adhere to the ODF specification and are able to interoperate. Proposers include representatives from IBM, Novell, and others; Rob Weir of IBM is designated as the discussion leader.
