This group will work to advance a specification that uses Web services and Web 2.0 interfaces to enable the sharing of information across content management repositories from different vendors. The CMIS TC will operate under the Royalty Free on RAND mode of the OASIS IPR Policy. TC proposers include representatives of OASIS Foundational Sponsors, IBM, Microsoft, and Oracle, as well as EMC, OpenText, SAP, and others. Al Brown of IBM is the convener; a TC chair or two co-chairs will be elected at the first meeting, which will be held by teleconference on 10 Nov. http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/tc-announce/200810/msg00003.html ------------------------------------------------------------------- ODF Interoperability and Conformance TC forms All interested parties are invited to participate in the new OASIS OpenDocument Format (ODF) Interoperability and Conformance Technical Committee. This group will work to produce materials and host events that help implementors create applications which conform to the ODF OASIS Standard and which are able to interoperate. The ODF Interoperability and Conformance TC will operate under the Royalty Free on Limited Terms mode of the OASIS IPR Policy. TC proposers include representatives of OASIS Foundational Sponsors, IBM and Sun Microsystems, as well as Ars Aperta, Google, Novell, South Africa Department of Science and Technology, US Department of Defense, and others. Robert Weir of IBM is the convener; a TC chair or two co-chairs will be elected at the first meeting, which will be held by teleconference on 22 Oct. http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/tc-announce/200810/msg00003.html ------------------------------------------------------------------- OASIS Standard vote on two emergency management specs opens soon Balloting for the Emergency Data Exchange Language Resource Messaging (EDXL-RM) 1.0 and for the Emergency Data Exchange Language (EDXL) Hospital AVailability Exchange (HAVE) 1.0 will be held 16-31 Oct. EDXL-RM describes a suite of standard messages for data sharing among emergency and other information systems that deal in requesting and providing emergency equipment, supplies, people, and teams. HAVE describes a standard message for data sharing among emergency information systems using EDXL. The specifications were developed by representatives of AtHoc, EDS, ESI Acquisition, Sandia National Laboratories, Warning Systems, and others. All organizational members of OASIS are encouraged to vote on EDXL-RM and HAVE; those who wish to discuss these ballots may do so through member-discuss@lists.oasis-open.org. http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/tc-announce/200810/msg00001.html ------------------------------------------------------------------- Public review begins for UBL Guidelines for Customization 1.0 Universal Business Language (UBL) Guidelines for Customization Version 1.0 provides practical information for creating UBL-conformant and UBL-compatible document schemas. The Forum focused on 'Security Challenges for the Information Society' and was presented by the OASIS IDtrust Member Section. The 'SOA for Telecom' Workshop was presented by the OASIS Telecom Member Section. All EI participants are invited to nominate qualified candidates, and new participants are welcome. The EI MS accelerates the development, adoption, application, and implementation of emergency interoperability and communications standards and related work.
