Members propose Key Management Interoperability Protocol (KMIP) TC

All interested parties are asked to review and comment on a draft charter to establish the OASIS Key Management Interoperability Protocol (KMIP) Technical Committee. KMIP will work to develop specifications for key lifecycle management, key sharing, long-term availability of cryptographic objects, and related areas. KMIP TC proposers include representatives of EMC, HP, IBM, and others; Robert Griffin of EMC serves as convener. The member comment period for this draft charter closes 26 Feb.

OASIS Standard vote opens for UIMA 1.0

Balloting for the Unstructured Information Management Architecture (UIMA) 1.0 is now underway and will close 28 Feb. UIMA defines platform-independent data representations and interfaces for software components or services called analytics, which analyze and assign semantics to unstructured information. The specification was developed by representatives of IBM, EMC, and others. All organizational members of OASIS are encouraged to vote on UIMA; those who wish to discuss the ballot may do so through member-discuss@lists.oasis-open.org.
