This year's AGM will be presented as a webinar on Thursday, 30 April, at 16:00 UTC/GMT and on Friday, 1 May, at 01:00 UTC/GMT. The webinar will be available for member download following the event. http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/members/200904/msg00001.html ------------------------------------------------------------------- Emergency Management Adoption Committee forms All interested parties are invited to participate in the new OASIS Emergency Management Adoption Committee. This group will provide expertise and resources to educate the marketplace on the value of the Emergency Management OASIS Standards, CAP and EDXL. Committee proposers include representatives of Desk Top Alert, Warning Systems and others; Thomas Ferrentino serves as convener; a Committee chair or two co-chairs will be elected at the first meeting, which will be held by teleconference on 1 May. http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/tc-announce/200904/msg00001.html ------------------------------------------------------------------- OASIS Standard vote opens for WS-Federation 1.2 Balloting for the Web Services Federation Language version 1.2 will be held 16-30 April. WS-Federation defines mechanisms to allow different security realms to federate, such that authorized access to resources managed in one realm can be provided to security principals whose identities and attributes are managed in other realms. This includes mechanisms for brokering of identity, attribute, authentication and authorization assertions between realms, and privacy of federated claims. The specification was developed by representatives of IBM, Microsoft, Active Endpoints, BMC, CA, HP, Nortel, Novell, Red Hat, Skyworth TTG Holdings, SOA Software, TIBCO, VeriSign, U.S. Veterans Health Administration, and others. All organizational members of OASIS are encouraged to vote on WS-Federation; those who wish to discuss the ballot may do so through member-discuss@lists.oasis-open.org. http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/tc-announce/200904/msg00000.html ------------------------------------------------------------------- Public review begins for six SAML 2.0 profiles The profiles include Holder-of-Key Web Browser SSO, Attribute Extensions, Condition for Delegation Restriction, Holder-of-Key Assertion Profile, Metadata Extension for Entity Attributes, and Metadata Interoperability. This public review ends 25 May. http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/tc-announce/200903/msg00006.html ------------------------------------------------------------------- UBL 2.0 International Data Dictionary Vol 1 public review begins The Universal Business Language (UBL) 2.0 International Data Dictionary, Volume 1 provides informative translations in Japanese, Italian, and Spanish. This public review ends 23 May. http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/tc-announce/200903/msg00004.html ------------------------------------------------------------------- Consortium seeks nominations for 'OASIS Distinguished Contributors' This new program recognizes OASIS members who have made extraordinary contributions to the advancement of open standards. The 'OASIS Distinguished Contributor' award will be presented annually to individuals who have demonstrated outstanding achievement in the introduction of new work, influence and visibility in the industry, ability to build consensus, and leadership and service. Nominations should be sent to member-services@oasis-open.org by 24 April. Final selection will be made by staff and announced at the OASIS Annual General Meeting webinar on 30 April/1 May. http://lists.oasis-open.org/archives/members/200903/msg00007.html ------------------------------------------------------------------- Members of OASIS, OMG, Open Group pledge coordination on SOA standards Representatives of the OASIS Reference Model for SOA Technical Committee, The Open Group SOA Work Group, and the OMG SOA Special Interest Group have been informally collaborating on potential harmonization of SOA specifications, standards, and other technical products. The groups have agreed on core SOA concepts derived from the OASIS Reference Model for SOA, The Open Group SOA Ontology, and OMG SoaML. Additional collaboration work is underway on SOA reference architectures and the topic of modeling SOA Governance. The groups plans to hold bi-monthly meetings to facilitate further coordination efforts. ------------------------------------------------------------------- eema and OASIS to host European e-Identity Management Conference In June, OASIS will partner with eema, the European association for e-identity and security, to host the European e-Identity Management Conference. The two-day London event will examine the key challenges and strategies in effectively managing organisation, administration, employee and citizen identities. The conference provides an ideal opportunity for identity experts to share their experience and knowledge with others, through case studies, presentations, networking, and debate. Representatives from Canada, Ghana, New Zealand, U.S. and other countries will discuss public financial management, security, and interoperability at the 'Open Standards for Transformational Government' workshop on 17 April at the World Bank in Washington, D.C.
